While I see what you're saying, it feels to me like this is a way of conflating socialism/marxism with the totalitarian realities that came about post WWII than the Marxist theory which preceded it. If that's the point, well then fair. But I'm a bit skeptical of this (even if Batya Ungar-Sargon might agree with you).
